Thirteenth Judicial Circuit COVID-19 Procedures

On March 18, 2020, the Chief Judge of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, H. Chris Ryan, Jr., published the following procedures for dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Thirteenth Judicial Circuit consists of LaSalle, Bureau, and Grundy Counties. In general, beginning March 18, 2020 through April 30, 2020, unless otherwise ordered by the court, all non-emergency civil court appearances, family court, traffic cases (TR, DT), Misdemeanor cases (CM), and Juvenile cases except as otherwise noted will be postponed. Each party litigant shall receive an amended notice in the mail. Litigants are directed to ensure that their mailing address is updated and current. All individuals in custody and Criminal felony matters (CF), Juvenile detention hearings, Order of Protections, Hearings on Petitions to Rescind Summary Suspensions, Mental Health and Drug Court will proceed as scheduled.

Individuals who are ill, have been out of the country within the last 21 days, have been directed to quarantine, have been diagnosed with or been in close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 or have flue like symptoms, including, fever, cough, sneezing, or shortness of breath are directed not to enter the courthouse and their appearance shall be waived. They should immediately contact their attorney to determine any agreed continuances.
